Mica Tape for Insulation: Asia Pacific Rules with 50% Revenue Share
In terms of both, production and consumption, the Asia Pacific region is undoubtedly the capital of the global mica-tape-for-insulation market. Experts predict that this dominance is here to stay as the region is expected to account for more than 50% of the global market by 2031. North America, which continues to maintain a substantial presence, is expected to cede its market share to the Asia Pacific region due to the rapid industrial expansion of countries such as China, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia. These nations are emerging as leaders in both the consumption and production of mica tape.
In terms of figures, the Asia Pacific region accounted for over 120,000 tons of mica tape consumption, clearly proving its status as the leading demand driver in the world. This demand has been fuelled mainly by the use of mica tape in various sectors such as electronics, automotive, and construction. Mica tape is an extremely versatile material and can be used for electrical insulation, fire protection, and thermal management, thus making it a popular product across these industries.
Within the Asia Pacific region, China and India lead the pack thus shaping the mica tape industry with their enormous production clout. China, which is the top exporter, contributes approximately 60% of global exports. Other important players in regional trade include Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan.
Within India itself, Hatim Dielectrics is expected to play a key role in ensuring India’s leading position in the mica tape industry in the Asia Pacific region.
